What the AI Skill Activates

// Example output with skill loaded:

ISSUE: Whether a home office deduction is available to a W-2 employee in 2026.

AUTHORITY: IRC §280A(c)(1)\; TCJA P.L. 115-97 §11042\; OBBBA P.L. 119-21

[VERIFIED LAW] IRC §280A(c)(1) permits a home office deduction for space
used regularly and exclusively for business. TCJA P.L. 115-97 §11042
suspended the employee business expense deduction (Form 2106) for tax
years 2018-2025. OBBBA P.L. 119-21 made this suspension permanent.

[VERIFIED LAW] W-2 employees cannot deduct unreimbursed business expenses
including home office costs under current federal law.

CONCLUSION: No deduction available for W-2 employees. The deduction
applies only to self-employed taxpayers (Schedule C), partners, and
S-corp shareholders through employer accountable plan reimbursement.

OPEN ITEMS: Check state return - several states (CA, NY) did not
conform to the TCJA/OBBBA suspension and may allow the deduction.
